OUR BACKGROUND
The Drama Club was founded by Edmond J. Dixon, an educator and school principal in 1993 in Whitby, Ontario. Since that time it has provided high-quality after-school programs and camps to tens of thousands of young people in locations around the Greater Toronto Area.The program has developed along with Mr. Dixon’s research at the University Toronto where he is completing doctoral studies focusing on the power of drama for learning and personal growth.
In 2007 The Literacy through Drama Project was started. Designed to help teachers engage students and improve their academic achievement, it has been brought to nearly 150 schools in 2 years time.
